Neat package; die cut label, nifty neck label, and screen printed logo, makes big promises and then delivers. Design features a monk offering a beer to a nun begging the question, “what’s indiscreet about that?” Gorgeous deep gold bordering on cooper. Sensational nose boasts sweet tones of a Belgian triple with the hop bouquet of a double IPA; foral and sweet, ying and yang balance with an emphasis on the yang that makes this a better beer for food than most triples. We savored it with Brussels sprouts, mussels cooked in a more traditional triple (the hops would make the mussels bitter,) and a salad of Belgium Endive.

A clear and amber promise is confirmed with eloquent and sensual fruity aromas from yeast and hops. Flavor upends assumptions of what a Belgian character can be. Warm and sumptuous alcohol emerges flamboyantly. Hop bite is satisfyingly bitter but not quite transfixing. It’s the roller coaster flavors and aromas that takes one for a ride. Radical ruse becomes a sentimental memory by the time you finish savoring this truly unique and magnificent specialty. Well done Mr. Brewer Person. You make our day.
