Type of Beer: Brown Ale
ABV: 5.5%
Confounding. In the same sniff that reveals balsamic vinegar, there’s also sweet, baked cherry. Why, there’s ripe melon, and shaved oak in there as well! This spontaneously fermented, limited-edition brown ale from New Glarus Brewing Co. is part of the brewery’s Thumbprint Series. There’s the slightest semblance of smoke and a tart smack on the taste. Moderate carbonation, with a slightly thin body, barrel aging gives this ale a dry finish. With so much in one ale, this is one to pour, savor and allow yourself to get lost in thought for a while.
