(Press Release)
SAN JOSE, CA—Gordon Biersch Brewing Company and the San Jose Earthquakes, of Major League Soccer, announced today a partnership that makes Gordon Biersch the club’s official craft beer sponsor. The deal coincides with the team’s 2015 home opener and public unveiling of 18,000-seat Avaya Stadium.
Gordon Biersch Marzen, Pilsner and Hefeweizen will be available in aluminum bottles while Marzen, Golden Export and Pilsner will be on draught throughout the stadium.
“The Earthquakes have been an incredible neighbor to us for years,” said Gordon Biersch co-founder Dan Gordon. “Heck, Gordon Biersch has been served at Earthquakes games even before Landon Donovan first came to the team as a rookie in 2001. Having opened our state of the art brewery in Japan Town in 1997, we appreciate all the great work the Earthquakes have done in the community and in making our city a better place to live. We’re honored to be the team’s official craft beer partner.”
“Gordon Biersch has been a great partner for many years,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. “Our fans have enjoyed the many different varieties of Gordon Biersch at our stadium and we are proud to have them be the official craft beer of our club.”
The Earthquakes kick off their 2015 home schedule Sunday, March 22 against Chicago Fire.
