Calagione, Oliver Nominated for James Beard Foundation Awards

By Jon Page - March 18, 2013

Sam Calagione and Garrett Oliver are nominees for the 2013 James Beard Foundation Awards, which honor food and beverage professionals working in North America. The awards ceremony is scheduled for May 3 in New York City.

Calagione, the president and founder of Dogfish Head Brewery, and Oliver, the brewmaster of The Brooklyn Brewery, were nominated in the category for Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional. According to the Beard Foundation, the award honors “a winemaker, brewer, or spirits professional who has had a significant impact on the wine and spirits industry nationwide.” To be considered, candidates must have been in the profession for at least five years.

This is the third straight nomination for Calagione and the fourth nomination for Oliver.

A complete list of nominees is available here.
