(Press Release)
WASHINGTON, D.C.—For inauguration, Bluejacket has brewed a special beer that will be poured at each of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group’s DC restaurants (Birch & Barley, ChurchKey, Bluejacket, Red Apron Union Market, Red Apron Burger Bar, The Partisan, Iron Gate, Hazel, The Sovereign, EatBar) starting Wednesday, Jan. 18th. Aptly dubbed “People are People,” all proceeds from the sale of this beer during the weekend will go to DC’s Immigrant Justice Legal Service Grant Program, a non-profit organization that provides legal services for immigrants.
“People are People” is a bone-dry Belgian-style Saison of 6% ABV that’s been brewed in the spirit of solidarity. It is golden in color, brewed with raw wheat, deftly hopped with American, European and Southern Hemisphere hops, and fermented with a blend of Farmhouse yeasts. “People are People” exudes rustic notes of earth, lemon and pepper, along with aromas of white wine and tangerines. Priced at $6/glass and available beginning Wed. 1/18 while supplies last (but most definitely through Inauguration weekend).
About Bluejacket
Beer Director Greg Engert, Head Brewer Josh Chapman and their team of brewers create beers across the broadest range of styles and flavors possible at Bluejacket. At Bluejacket, understanding of and respect for the traditions and techniques of classic brewing coexist with a spirit of constant experimentation, innovation and collaboration, yielding delicious beers that showcase seasonality, culinary inspiration, and historic interpretation. Located in Navy Yard in Washington, DC, the space that Bluejacket occupies is distinctive as the brewery itself. Built in 1919, the building (known as the Boilermaker Shops) was part of the Navy Yards Ship and Munitions Manufacturing Complex, and it is one of the few true industrial buildings remaining in DC.
