(Press Release)
BOULDER, CO—Teaming up with distributor Crescent Crown, the Avery Brewing Co. is again selling beer in Arizona.
In a true kick-off fashion the first Avery beers available in Arizona in nearly three years will be tapped tonight (Thursday Nov. 14th) at the Papago Brewing Co. in Scottsdale during an Avery kick-off party from 6-8pm.
“I missed Arizona,” said Adam Avery, the brewery’s president, CEO and brewmaster. “One of my favorite events ever was with Ron and Leah at Papago. I feel really fortunate and grateful that they have offered to host our return party. I can’t wait to have beers with them tonight.”
Arizona was one of eight states that Avery pulled out of in April 2011. At that time the brewery faced skyrocketing demand in its home market that outpaced the its ever-expanding production capabilities. Since then, Avery has increased capacity at its existing facility and has plans for a new brewery that are coming along quickly. The result is that Avery has enough beer to return to some markets including Arizona.
“Arizona has always been so good to us. It hurt to leave our partners and fans there back in 2011,” Adam said. “I think the Crescent Crown team understood at the time why we left. They continued to visit the brewery often and stayed in touch. They knew we would return to Arizona and that when we did it would be with Crescent Crown.”
Chuck Knoll of Crescent Crown said he couldn’t be happier about Avery’s long awaited return. “Avery is one of those brands that sells, every beer geek knows them, and there’s already been a lot of excitement about their return to Arizona. There’s always been a great craft beer culture here in Arizona and in recent years it has really exploded. It’s a much different scene than three years ago- more local and quality driven. Avery is going to fit right in and will complement our existing portfolio.”
Avery is returning to Arizona with an extensive line up of cans, bottles and kegs. The beers in that line up include the brewery’s flagships of Avery IPA and White Rascal Belgian Style White Ale as well as Ellie’s Brown Ale, Joe’s Pilsner, and the The Holy Trinity of Ales series—Hog Heaven Dry-Hopped Barley Wine Style Ale, Salvation Belgian-Style Golden Ale and The Reverend Belgian-Style Quadrupel Ale.
Since 1993, Avery Brewing has been committed to producing eccentric ales and lagers that defy styles or categories. Its products are American at heart: blending Old World tradition and expertise with ingenuity, creativity and boldness. With a dedication to making beer from the inside out, Avery brews what it likes to drink–with utter disregard for what the market demands– and searches out fans with equally eccentric palates.
