As our craft beer culture continues to evolve, subtlety and nuance will be ever more appreciated. It's a misconception that a 'session beer' can't be hoppy and will be a watery type beer. I hope you get the chance to taste some of these beers. Hopefully the current market interest will bring some well made ones your way. Twitter: @Stuart_Arnold @IdrinkRealBeer

I like 7% as the minimum. Sucks the all day alcoholics can't hang in Hop Flavortown...hope the craft beer industry doesn't freak out and actually start making watery bud light esque beers, what a thought Uhm…..forget that. Pretty soon a new brewery will be opening in the Raleigh NC area and with two of the co-founders hailing from England an emphasis will be towards. English styles. We will provide an English style Pale Ale, more commonly known as Bitter in England and will weigh in at < 4% ABV. This, as pointed out in the article is more in line with a 'session ale' found in England. It should be noted that having lived in England for the best part of forty years though I never once heard the term session ale. Interestingly it crops up more and more on UK brewers websites. My guess is this is due to the recent influx of American craft beers starting to surface in The UK. Let's hope that cask ale sees the next surge in interest to cross over from England.
