Starr Hill IPA Jamberree
Crozet, Virginia
Billing itself as a hop lover’s paradise, Starr Hill’s festival will celebrate Humulus lupulus with over 50 IPAs from Virginia breweries, including over 20 of its own. There will also be bands, food trucks, hop growers and games.
Beer Releases
New Belgium Brewing Co.
Fat Tire Riff Pack
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, New Belgium teamed with Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Allagash Brewing Co., Avery Brewing Co., Hopworks Urban Brewery and Rhinegeist for this Fat Tire variety 12-pack. Ranging from a saison-influenced riff on Fat Tire made with Allagash, to a tart, Lactobacillus-tinged version made with Hopworks, this pack includes five variations of the New Belgium’s standard brew, as well as the standard itself.
Maui Brewing Co.
La Perouse White Witbier

Brewed with tangerines and coriander, this re-released witbier won bronze at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival. The beer will be part of Maui’s first variety pack, to be released this summer, which will also include Bikini Blonde Lager, Big Swell IPA and Pineapple Mana Wheat. La Perouse will also be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft.
Beer Camp Across America Kicks Off
Beer Camp is Sierra Nevada’s celebration of brewing industry unity. It invites collaborations across the country that result in six festivals and six new beers.
This year’s events will occur in Tampa, Florida (June 4); Seattle (June 11); Milwaukee (June 11); San Francisco (June 18); Boston (June 18); and Los Angeles (June 25). General admission is $50 and includes hundreds of beer samples, a commemorative tasting glass and live entertainment.
The new beers were made in collaboration with the likes of August Schell Brewing Co., Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Odell Brewing Co., Wicked Weed Brewing, Creature Comforts Brewing Co., Port Brewing Co., Bear Republic Brewing Co. and Perennial Artisan Ales. They include an imperial brown ale, an imperial session IPA, a robust stout, a Southern table beer, a rye pale ale and a session rye beer. Beers were made available in variety 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles in May.
